In envisioning the reception, Summer said to me, “I want people to feel like they are walking into an art exhibit not a wedding reception”. My design played on other cues she had given me as well, “retro”, “modern”, “dramatic”, and “geometric”.
Upon entering the tent, the first thing you noticed was a dramatic head table 32 feet in length. Cherry Red was one of Summer’s favorite colors so we used red satin on this table and florist used red tulip arrangements and a geometric table runner to tie it all together. The guest tables were square with geometric patterned linen underneath and a sheer overlay with tiny crystals. The centerpieces rose to 42 inches above the tables and were crowned with white French tulips.
Guests ordered their dinner selections from a whimsical menu cut round and trimmed in fur. I also created a signature drink for the bride and her bridesmaids that matched their dresses and had an ice cube that pulsed like a heart beat.
